For those desiring a winning smile—one that covers up stained, chipped, and worn-out teeth—Carr & Smith Dental can help!

Dr. Smith is proud to offer custom porcelain veneers to patients, designed to restore one’s smile quickly while offering beautiful results, a natural appearance and full function of the teeth.
NEW PATIENTS

Porcelain veneers are custom-fitted “shells” that are applied and bonded to the front surfaces of the teeth. They are used to cosmetically correct teeth that are:

  • Crooked
  • Misshapen
  • Gapped

  • Chipped
  • Stained

  • Cracked
  • Worn

To create a custom, natural fit, Dr. Smith will meet with the patient to determine the “look” they’d like to achieve, while checking the appropriateness of their teeth for veneers and obtaining the best color matches.

Next, he’ll lightly sand the enamel on the teeth to be fitted with veneers to maintain the same tooth thickness. Then, an impression of the teeth will be taken so the veneers can be shaped for a perfect fit, with the correct color and shape. While the patient’s new “teeth” are being made, he may place temporary veneers on their teeth until the permanent ones are ready.

At the next visit, Dr. Smith will have the patient approve the color and shape of their new veneers prior to placing them. The teeth will be cleaned and then a bonding adhesive is applied along with the veneers to cement them into place. The veneers are then buffed to blend in with the patient’s other teeth.

As a conservative dental approach to cover teeth imperfections and fill in the gaps, porcelain veneers are an ideal choice because:

  • Very little of the actual tooth enamel is removed
  • They provide a natural-looking alternative that is less expensive than crowns
  • They are strong and stain-resistant
  • With proper care, they can last 10-15 years
  • The procedure produces very little pain or discomfort
